DUTCH BISCUITS.

STROOPWAFELS.

Europro specialises in searching for biscuits that have a strong traditional background.

The Dutch have a number of traditional biscuits that they have been making for decades, like the "Stroopwafel"

The biscuit comes originally from the area of Barneveld where small bakeries were producing these waffles often in front of their shop.

In the morning when the people would go to the open markets they could smell the aroma of the small stands that were baking stroopwafels as a morning coffee treat.

The biscuit is a thin waffle sliced in half with caramel syrop in between.

The biscuit is best eaten when it has been slightly warmed up which the dutch people do by laying the biscuit over their hot cup of coffee for just a few moments.

The heat of the coffee warms up the syrop to the exact temperature to release its maximum aroma and taste.

The biscuit has a shelf life of 12 months after it has been baked.

The waffles are sold in two sizes 1) a small one bite size and 2) a mature biscuit for the demanding consumer wanting a decent taste of the Dutch Stroopwafel"
